For those trying to learn Latin I have tried to do my best to include the original (bold font), natural English (regular) and literal (italics) word order of the Latin translation. There is a table below the narrow view translations for phones that will be easier to compare on wide tablets and computers. I am no Latin expert though so I used a few different sources to check the best word translations.
This hymn was written by Jean Tisserand, O.F.M. (d. 1494) and originally had only nine stanzas. Stanzas “Discipulis adstantibus”, “Ut intellexit Didymus”, “Beati qui non viderunt” are early additions to the hymn.
